Character Traits: To put it generally, a stoic but sweet personality. Klein typically seems reserved with her emotions, but she is also a caring, loyal, and affectionate person, and a steady companion under fire. She seems down-to-earth but has strong ideals of chivalry and romance.

She is extremely stubborn and will go off to do something alone if nobody agrees with her, to the point of extreme recklessness, but she's not afraid of anything either. It takes a lot to get her angry, but when she does, she can be violent about it, and she can hold a grudge for a long time.

Background
She came from a traditional military family of Varlandian soldiers. Her father was a dragoon, and she grew up in Chalcedonia. At the time, however, the previous king was collecting the crystals at the capital, so the surrounding villages depended on extra protection from the monsters that arrived. Klein's father and his team would often take it upon themselves to ride out to defend those who needed it.

However, one particularly harsh winter, when Klein was about eleven years old, he didn't come back at all. From that group, only two lancers and a few riderless chocobo made it back to Chalcedonia, with the whereabouts of the others unknown. After that a new king took the throne, but Klein has always somewhat blamed the royalty for the disappearance of her father. She holds a sense of distrust towards the royals, but she does believe in protecting the people of Varlandia.

After a year of waiting without a lack of news on any of the lancers, Klein and her mother moved to a village near Berylle, where living was a little easier than in the mountains. It was there that Klein developed her skill as an archer by hunting for food. Her mother wanted to eventually settle in Perido where they could be closer to their extended families near the capital. In fact, they had just arrived in Perido to move there when the miasma outbreak occurred.

Klein spent the next few months helping her mother settle into the new home. Once there was an opportunity to sign up to fight for Varlandia, she took her bow to join the soldiers in the recently opened Bartelo. Her mother, however, was very against the idea, but Klein simply packed her things and left one morning, although promising to write home regularly to soothe her mother's worries.

Sometimes she does wonder if she's doing the right thing, and if someday she would simply go the same route as her father did. But if anything, maybe her father is out there somewhere. 

5/2016: After the Mission 5, where the crystal shards were found in the swamp, Klein set out on another journey to find her father. She traveled with a group of scouts from Chalcedonia, led by the two survivors from the group that her father led into those mountains years ago. After some weeks of searching, the remains of her father and his squad were found deep in northern mountains. A funeral service was held for the group back in Chalcedonia.

Chocobo Relation: Despite that they didn't know either other very long before Klein joined the guilds, she and Chodee have a very close bond. Klein obtained Chodee from a rancher in Perido when she moved there a few months ago, in order to help her out with errands. Her cousin suggested a white chocobo since their demeanors were a close match. There's nothing too special about her appearance, but Chodee likes to slowly steal people's hats while they're not paying attention. Otherwise, she isn't a very picky chocobo and is content with any conditions of food or living, within reason, of course. Chodee has proven her loyalty by sticking with Klein when she fell ill in the mountains after Mission 3.

- Far-sighted. She has trouble reading up close so she doesn't like reading very much, and she does most close-up work by touch.

Epilogue:
Helga and Rennir offered to purchase the Einselhart guildhouse for use as their new inn, and Klein happily stayed to help them open their new business. However, after their grand opening in June of that year, her desire to help people was still strong, so she decided to travel to other areas where much rebuilding still needed to be done. The call took her to Myrsa, where she aided in the restoration of the salt town, and she bravely protected travelers from any monsters that still lingered in the areas nearby. She keeps in frequent contact with those she had grown close to, which include Yngvarr, Helga, and her former guildmate Andre.

She returned to Bartelo in order to aid Helga in the birth of her first child in November, before returning to the mountains for the New Year as she always did. That year she went with her mother, to scatter her father's ashes in the winter winds so that his spirit might be free.

I wasn't sure about this group at first even though everyone around me was talking about it, since I've never played a Final Fantasy game before. However, after some browsing around, the system seemed easy enough to understand, and I thought it would be a good place to use one of my old characters. I was job searching for most of the winter, so I wasn't able to make an app for the first deadline, but I got some new willpower to draw when yami-izumi mentioned the mini enrollment.

Drawn over a week, though as far as a full-color goes, this is considered a rush job for me. Nothing very exciting about the shading except an odd decision to use dark fuschia and purple in a few areas, and I skipped over the step where I usually color my lineart (I hope to get to that soon). I had a different profile picture in mind, so I'll do that later, I guess. I am also sure there are more facts about her that I have forgotten for now, so expect this profile to expand a bit soon, hahaha.
